Anjana Girish, Assistant Professor

Anjana Girish with specialization in Public Law and Intellectual Property Rights has entered the legal profession as a practising lawyer in Delhi. She appeared before the Supreme Court, National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission and various statutory tribunals. She is a member of the Supreme Court Bar Association.

In the year 2014, she joined National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS) as faculty and later joined  School of Legal Studies, CUSAT and thereafter, IUCIPRS, where she currently holds the post of Assistant Professor. She has done several paper presentations at various national seminars and has acted as resource person in workshops and judge in moot court competitions.

She was adjudged “Best Lady Advocate” award in the Tenth S.C. Javali (Centenary) Memorial Moot Court Competition held at University College of Law, Dharwad on 26th, 27th & 28th January 2008.

Resource Person

  •  Acted as a resource person in the Project Initiation Workshop on “Indigenous Traditional Knowledge in Fisheries” at ICAR-CIFT, Cochin on 30th October, 2015 and has delivered a talk on “Protection of Traditional Knowledge: Jural Paradigm”.
  • Acted as a Judge in Dr. A.T. Markose Memorial 4th Moot Court Competition organized by the School of Legal Studies, CUSAT on 6th-8th February 2015.

  • Presented a Paper on “Genetically Modified Organisms and its Implications on the Right to Food vis-à-vis Right to Health” at UGC sponsored National Seminar on Realisation of Socio-Economic Rights organised by the Department of Law, University of Kerala, Kariavattom, Thiruvananthapuram held on the 3rd, 4th and 5th February 2011.
  • Presented a Paper on “Human Experimentation on Vulnerable Populations: Ethical Issues” at the National Interdisciplinary Seminar on New Genetic Technologies and Human Rights organised by the Department of Law, University of Kerala, Kariavattom, Thiruvananthapuram held on the 25th to 27th August 2011.
  • Presented a Paper on “Sustainable Development-A Critical Analysis” in the National Seminar on Human Rights and the Environment: Problems and Prospects sponsored by the UGC and organized by the Department of History, H.H.M.S.P.B.N.S.S. College for Women, Thiruvananthapuram held on the 1st and 2nd December 2011.
  • Presented a Paper on “Water Act and other laws” at the workshop on Review on the Significance of the Existing Environmental Laws Applicable in Kerala and its Limitations and Solutions, jointly organized by True Vision Charitable Society, and Green Community, Directorate of Environment and Climate Change and Kerala University (Department of Law), held on 9th November 2011.
